Theruptor HandRub is formulated with Chlorhexidine Gluconate* at 0.5% w/v and Isopropyl Alcohol at 70% v/v along with skin emollients, moisturizers and excipients. It is indicated for rapid hand disinfection. It is suitable for use before and after contact with patients. It has a broad spectrum of anti-microbial activity and is an effective microbicidal solution.

* Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum biocide effective against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. Addition of chlorhexidine to alcohol-based preparations results in significantly greater residual activity than alcohol alone. Chlorhexidine has in vitro activity against enveloped viruses such as herpes simplex virus, HIV, cytomegalovirus, influenza and RSV according to WHO Guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care. The SARS-CoV-2 Virus is an enveloped virus and Chlorhexidine with alcohol combination is effective against it.
